Wildlife
As pressure from too many people and intensive agriculture is low in this part of the world, our wildlife is spectacular. Both common and rare species can be found here and you are sure to find something every day.
Almost all the photographs in this website have been taken by Chris and Chrissie. When another picture has been taken by anyone else, we will say so.

The Big 5: Red Deer, Golden Eagle, Red Squirrel, Otter and Harbour Seal
The plains of Africa are not the only places to have a big 5 species that are a must see for any wildlife watcher. Scotland has them as well. You may not see them all on your holiday, but you never know.....
There is a big problem with the Big 5 though.....there are more than 5!
See below for iconic species we get in this area, some on the Croft.
We also have a varied list of birds regularly seen on or flying over the Croft. We'd love to add to the list, so do let us know if you see any new species.
