Local Food - Eating Out

There are many great places to eat out in the surrounding area. While self catering is often about cooking for yourself a trip out (or several) can be a great event during your stay.

The Glenuig Inn

A environmental award winning  business.

Open for evening meals 4-9pm, booking essential.

Mingary Park Lodge

Great restaurant in Acharacle, well worth a visit while you are here. A little minimalist inside, but the food is devine!

Has been awarded 1 rosette from the AA for culinary excellence 2017

The Strontian Hotel

Comfortable bar and great food, the Strontian Hotel is a great place for a meal or a pint. Just walk or drive into the village as if you were headed back to the ferry. The Strontian Hotel is just past the village green on the left.

Café Sunart

Great café in the village at the back of the green by the village shop. Well worth a visit while you are here!

The Ariundle Centre

Open just about the entire year the Ariundle centre is great for a coffee and home baked cake if you are walking in the woods, or for a full-blown meal. A short walk from the houses. Just go down our drive, turn left and walk half a mile. You can't miss it.

The Kilcamb

For a smart lunch or an even smarter evening meal the Kilcamb is a walk of around a mile from the houses and provides a superb restaurant! Walk or drive down the road to just before the bridge. Turn right and head up the hill a few hundred meters. The entrance to the Kilcamb is on the left.

The Whitehouse

Half an hour by car and you are at Lochaline which you can investigate this wonderful restaurant.

The Boathouse

A little further away which requires a car to get there and you are at the Boathouse. Great food and beautiful views. How to get there is on their website, but if you take the Kingairloch Road you can't miss it! Open Wednesday and Thursday for coffee and lunches.

Salen Hotel

Head west along the shores of  Loch Sunart and after 8 or so miles you will come to Salen. Just past the left hand turn to Salen on the right is this delightful pub, that has a great restaurant.

Ardshealach Lodge Restaurant

Want a treat, then this place is so worth a visit. Down the coast to Acharacle which is 30 minutes by car and on the right as you enter the village. Food is superb. Booking essential.

Acharacle Tea Rooms, Cafe Tioram

Lovely little cafe well worth a visit if you are nearby. Just in the village on the left if you are headed from Strontian.

The Inn at Ardgour

Great dog-friendly pub just by the Corran ferry.
