Weddings
We now hold a Civil Wedding License so you can marry here in the garden or in Honeysuckle though we ask you (usually - unless there are only two of you) to book the whole house. There is a registrar from Fort William who can conduct the ceremony for you or you can organise a Religious Ceremony taken by a minister/priest/vicar, because in Scotland, for a religious ceremony, it is the person who is registered not the place. There is also a Church at the bottom of the hill.
Ian and Cathie’s wedding breakfast - Afternoon Tea for 40, August 2011.
Helen and James in April 2011 married by Kate the ‘Bee’ lady, our local Inter Faith Minister with buffet lunch.
We sometimes do a special line in 'white' weddings.
Marion, Albert and family in the snow near the end of December 2009
Alan and Anne in July 2009 with flowers from the croft.
We charge £250 for your wedding on top of the normal rental for guests who are staying in the house. If you would like to invite additional guests we charge an extra £200 for up to a total of 40 guests (up to 30 adults and 10 children). We can organise a wonderful wedding feast for you using mostly home-grown produce - see the Good Food pages or ask for sample seasonal dinner menus. We can also help organise flowers for you from local florists at cost.
The layout of the house is ideal as bride and groom can have a house/cottage each for those who want to be traditional on the wedding day. Click here to see the plans of the house.
Although we can cook for you and have enormous experience of catering for weddings (over 20 years), please bring your own champagne/wine as we do not have a license. Please email or phone to discuss all your plans, we will do everything we possibly can to make your day truly memorable.
